Little Acts of Service...

----------

A story was published in the New Era in February that talked about a man named Geoff, who, while running, saw an envelope on the ground that said "Pick me up. I'm yours!" Geoff opened it and found a $100 bill inside that said, "This is for you. Hope you have a wonderful day!"
Geoff decided to spend the money helping others. He would do little things, like buying the movie theater tickets for the people behind him in line, or leaving quarters in the gum ball machine. He talked about what he has learned doing service for other people. He said,
“I really want to show other people how easy it can be to make a difference. Almost everyone has two dollars; everyone has five minutes to spend to bless someone.”

Both of those stories show that you can do little acts of service that will really bless the people around you. Even if it doesn't seem like much to you, that little act could become a tender mercy to someone else. You never know what's going on in someone's life.

I'm committing to find more ways to serve the people around me, especially people that I don't know. It will be fun... and people on both sides will feel good afterward!
